We have so many new volunteers this year, we figured we’d give you an idea of what to expect at your event on December 7th, 2013.
So the typical day at Help-Portrait Baltimore goes like this.
9 AM – Arrival & Setup – This time is very important. Here we setup photo stations, test lights and triggers and cameras and printers and laptops and everything we use during the day. Being late for this time can really make the day a little harder.
11 AM – Site Tour & Overview – The site tour and overview is to help volunteers get an understanding of the organization they are serving. This really can help in understanding the client and where they are at in life. Really helpful in setting the tone for the day. Great reminder of what the day is all about.
12 PM – Lunch – Well Duh! We all have to eat. No one wants an angry photographer for Help-Portrait, that’s for sure!
12:30 PM – Clients begin in shooting or hair/makeup. This is what the entire day is about, getting our clients in front of our cameras and capturing amazing images! This can be really crazy, or a little laid back. Either way, we’ll have an amazing day filled with very rewarding moments.
5:00 PM – Shooting ends and cleanup begins. Pack it up and get out! 😉 The day is winding down and it’s time to get things packed up and loaded out. We’ll do a little debrief here, but expect a volunteer party in January. That’ll be the time we can all share memories and think about how we can improve for future events.
6:00 PM – Hit the road after a great day!
So as you can see, it’s a full day. But a day with some time to rest, enjoy yourself and have an amazing time. Hope this gives you a little insight into the day and allows you to plan accordingly.
